New to Das?
Pilates at Das Studio is personal, considered and tailored to the individual. Whether you are completely new to the method, returning after time away, managing a condition or injury, or simply looking for a more attentive studio environment, this is where to begin.
All new clients undertake an initial consultation so the studio can get to know you, review or introduce the fundamental principles of Pilates, understand your needs, and discuss which class format is most appropriate. You will also be guided through a series of exercises on the mat and apparatus, so your introduction to the studio is practical from the very beginning.
If you have done Pilates before, an initial consultation is still required so you can become orientated with Das Studio Pilates systems, teaching style and structures.

What to wear
Please wear comfortable workout gear that is not overly loose or baggy, so your instructor can see how your body is moving, check alignment and assess muscle recruitment patterns. We like to see your feet so socks are not required.
Facilities
Das Studio Pilates has toilets, change-room and storage facilities, and clients are welcome to relax in the reception area while waiting for class. Sessions are offered privately, in duets, or in semi-private groups of up to three people.

Do I need an initial consultation if I have done Pilates before?

Yes. The initial consultation helps the studio understand your experience, discuss goals and establish a rapport between you and your instructor.
Does it matter if I am not flexible?

No. Pilates addresses inflexibility alongside mobilising and strengthening the body.
How often should I do Pilates?

A regular weekly session is a great start. If you build to twice weekly or complement studio sessions with additional movement practice, you may feel the benefits sooner.
How long until I feel results?

Many clients report feeling better within the first few sessions, whether that means better sleep, greater ease in daily tasks, or less discomfort.
Will I always have the same instructor?

No. Even though you will build a program with a specific instructor there might be times where you will have your session with someone else. This is encouraged by the studio so that you can experience different ways of teaching, different ways of seeing and being. Our instructors will share relevant information about you it this is the case.
